UX & UI Explained: Active Engagement Structures

These days, it’s more than proven that the 80/20’s Principle is super effective for any User Experience and Interface Design, whatever the purpose or target.

By simplifying and directing your core to the user the easiest way possible, it’s not hard as it seems. Users want to reach their goal without having to read lots of text and see a Website or App full of beautiful and complex Illustrations.

For example, at this moment you are reading this article right? Why? Have you tried to take 5 minutes to take a closer look to Medium and see how practical and simple it is?

In this Article, we will “study” a perfect case on how Adidas® get their Users engaged.

They start with the Core/Goal of the Website which is getting the User to buy their products.

Engaging Customers visually

When you enter at Adidas® Website, they direct you visually and with almost no text, to their trendiest product and ask you if you want to “Shop for Women” or “Shop for Men”.

Direct Call to Action

When you choose a product, they combine a Product Shot, Colors, Size Picker and a Call to Action, so you basically don’t need any text to do it.

Then, they present the Users with some things that will help them reach their goal.

The Law of attraction

An attractive description and insights of the Product.

The Product quality, focused to the Customer

Specifications and Instructions on how to take care with the product. This reveals that the brand not only do you want to sell a product, but you are also concerned with its quality and durability.

The Community spreading the word

User Ratings and Reviews are the best hindrance to any buyer doubts.

If they feel that the User still isn’t ready to buy, they provide proper alternatives similar to the product you’ve just saw.

In the image above, you can see similar products and notice how they use “Others Also Bought” to engage you and make you feel part of their culture and Brand. This will increase the probability of purchase for sure.

Conclusion

If you focus on the Core and/or Need, you can guide the User throughout your Product Page seamlessly!

Thank you!
